My Handwriting Analysis
June 4, 2008, 4:44 pm

Just got my online handwriting analysis courtesy of handwritingwizard.com

Very interesting result about myself.

Izam is moderately outgoing. His emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, he can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. He has the ability to put himself into the other person’s shoes.

Izam will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes he will be happy, the next day he might be sad. He has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because he is in between. Psychology calls Izam an ambivert. He understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, he will not tolerate anyone that is too “far out.” He doesn’t sway too far one way or the other.

When convincing him to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to him. He puts himself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet he will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Izam is an expressive person. He outwardly shows his emotions. He may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story.

Izam is a “middle-of-the-roader,” politically as well as logically. He weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when he finally has to. He basically doesn’t relate to any far out ideas and usually won’t go to the extreme on any issue.

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Izam doesn’t write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

Izam is sensitive to criticism about his ideas and philosophies. He will sometimes worry what people will think if he tells them what he believes in. This doesn’t mean he won’t talk, or that he feels ashamed. It merely means he is sensitive to what others think, regarding his beliefs.

Izam will be candid and direct when expressing his opinion. He will tell them what he thinks if they ask for it, whether they like it or not. So, if they don’t really want his opinion, don’t ask for it!

In reference to Izam’s mental abilities, he has a very investigating and creating mind. He investigates projects rapidly because he is curious about many things. He gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but he soon must slow down and look at all the angles. He probably gets too many things going at once. When Izam slows down, then he becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, he must slow down to do it. He then decides what projects he has time to finish. Thus he finishes at a slower pace than when he started the project.

He has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. His mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. He can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Izam can then switch into his low gear. When he is in the slower mode, he can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. He is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Izam is capable of seeing far into the future. He plans two, three, even ten years in advance. Izam has high goals and can literally see them being reached. He is very self-confident and has a high self-esteem. Izam will reach whatever level of success he desires.

Izam has the self-concept that is possessed by less than two percent of the population. That two percent contains the most successful people in the world. When a person has a high self-esteem, he frees himself to achieve an unlimited world of success. Izam has achieved this frame of mind. Congratulations. He has the self-confidence to take great risk, thus reaping the rewards. If he does fail, it doesn’t break his confidence. He knows he can do it! In retrospect of our research, this trait is one of the most desirable to possess, because it releases the writer to achieve his full potential. We recommend everyone raise their self-esteem to this level.

Izam is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect his ego when he feels hurt. He pokes people harder than he gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.

Izam is very self-sufficient. He is trying not to need anyone. He is capable of making it on his own. He probably wants and enjoys people, but he doesn’t “need” them. He can be a loner.

Getting an iPhone in Japan?

Softbank just announced they’ll be bringing iPhone to Japanese customers.

Well looks like I’ll be getting my hands on an iPhone over there soon!

But that really depends. Heard Singapore’s going to officially get iPhone this year as well.

I guess it will all depend on the price.

But Wait a minute. Why the heck would I want an iPhone in Japan when I can get a damn better Japanese phone over there?

Just take a look at these phones via Engadget:

The features they boast are way more advanced than your regular nokia’s or sony ericsson’s really.

Oh and they full web browser with Flash 8 support!

Take that! No need to mess with Flash Lite and stuffs.

Unbelievable.

Definitely will check those phones out when I get there.

Via Playyoo:

“Now, according to ReadWriteWeb, a book has been released by MIT professor and director of MIT’s Scheller Teacher Education ProgramEric Klopfer which makes the case that mobile games can augment other education tools.”

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

I’ve been very busy the past month or so, what with preparing for mid year examinations, results, remediation programme, etc.

At long last, the holidays are here! I can now go full steam ahead with more games!

Finally I got to know where I will be working in Japan! Got a big package in the mail today. Inside is a formal letter stating that I have been confirmed. All other formal letter of acceptance, terms & conditions of service, welcome letter etc. from the contracting organisation (the school or Board of Education) will be sent to me after May 28.

I’ve got to contact my predecessor directly soon.

Yes!! Its unbelievable but I got what I have requested for. I get to live and work in Hokkaido, in Sapporo to boot!

Man, I love that place. The scenery, the people, the relatively slow pace of life… Sigh… lovely.

I still remember having breakfast in the school canteen. Chatting with a colleague of mine about where will be nice to work at. I told him how wonderful it will be to work in Hokkaido.

I’m so grateful to God.

More information soon!

If all goes well, I’ll be in Japan sometime in August this year.

Not really on holiday, but working as an Assistant English Language Teacher there. Wonder if I will get to be posted to Hokkaido. I chose Hokkaido as my first preferred place to be posted to.

Lots of things I look forward to do when I’m there.

1) Set up cordial relations between my present school and my future school in Japan. (Hopefully a high school)

2) Set up several video conferencing sessions between students in Singapore and Japan

3) Create MORE games for Japanese Mobile Phones!!!

4) Learn more Japanese

5) Get more game ideas from Japan

6) Breathe in the fresh air of the countryside

It’s going to be a LONG VACATION. 5 Years hopefully.

Hai!

Game idea when I was 12: Journey Man
March 13, 2008, 12:34 am

While having dinner with a friend a few days ago, I told my childhood experience to her and suddenly I remembered about a computer game that two of my friends and I wanted to create.

My friends and I we obsessed with ATARI. A friend of ours had the console and he always invites us to his place to play. We played really simple games with the likes of PONG, golf, racing games and others. These games although not in the fashion of 3D games that we are used to expect from consoles now, are very addictive!

The games are basically made of really raw pixels! But us kids back then in the late 80s had so much fun and I think we had to use a lot of our imagination when playing the video games.

I can’t remember who suggested it, but most of us had the same desire. WE WANT TO MAKE A GAME!

I remembered reading a book in the library back in 1987 where they explained how to program a game. The game character looked a lot like the space invaders. However the game programming was done not on the regular PC it was on the Commodore. My dad bought an AT/XT PC and I think it was the best thing ever. I became a computer nerd.

Well I didn’t have a Commodore so the next best thing was to learn BASIC programming. Downloaded a few games done in Basic, opened it, looked at the code, messed it up and learnt a thing or two. (Yes back then in the 1980s I did download stuff—not from the internet but from BBS. Ah those were the days :D)

Basic wasn’t like the object oriented programming that most of us are familiar with now. It was a linear kind of programming as far as I can remember. Well it was fun back then.

Anyway, the three of us kids thought up the name of the game: JOURNEY MAN.
We thought it would be cool to create a game of a man who travel around the world, avoiding obstacles, save princesses etc etc.

We never really got down to discuss more about it though hahaha.

I thought it will be good if I were to create a game called JOURNEY MAN and to finally close that chapter of my life which I left hanging for years!

Watch out for it soon!
